Welcome, Winter!

It’s the first day of Winter! To mark the day, here’s a sweet little poem that appeared in an 1886 issue of The Pansy magazine.

Pansies in Winter
When into our lives there is something sent
Like the mantle of winter and discontent,
Think of the pansies that patiently grow
And wait for the sunshine under the snow.
