What did Isabella Alden think of flappers? I bet she didn’t like them, so that’s the wrong card! Flappers represented everything she was against.
You’re so right, Barbara! Isabella did not approve of flappers at all. Since the young lady in the illustration didn’t have bobbed hair, I didn’t think she represented the flapper movement Isabella disliked so much; but you have a good point. In the future I think I’ll stick to illustrations that are a little more in keeping with the time period in which Isabella’s books were published, just to be safe. 😉 Thanks for commenting! —Jenny
